Reflections on Being a Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse

As we celebrate Nurses Month throughout the month of May, we are recognizing nurses for their commitment to the profession and for providing compassionate care and support to the patients they serve. We thank our nurses for their dedication to our mission to celebrate the lives of those we have the privilege of serving by providing superior care and superior services to each patient and family.

We invite you to read about one of our nurses at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.

    • Christine enjoys helping other people. To her, kindness means giving of yourself to another even if it is providing others with a smile. One of her favorite memories is caring for a patient who was in a lot of pain. Christine and her team were able to get her medication, give her a bath, reposition her, and give her a warm blanket to make her more comfortable. The patient thanked them after they were able to make her comfortable. “It fills my cup when I get a thank you from patients for the little things I do to make them feel better,” she said.
